Videos

These might bore you to tears... but they make me laugh, smile, or cry, depending on the day. Let me know what you think. Some are old, but I just figured out how to upload videos.

This is Andrew AT EIGHT WEEKS smiling.

This is with Angela. By the way, he only plays this game with her. He looks at me and Rusty like idiots when we try it. I know the lighting is bad, sorry.

Watch his mouth. He is dreaming of nursing.

This one might seem like a waste, but just be patient for the sweetest smile ever. It is the only smile we've gotten while playing Angela's game.

10 weeks old!

These are some pictures from this last week. The one with the outfit that says, "Just plain cute" is not only right on the money, but was a gift from Rusty's friend from high school, David. Well, probably from his wife, Emily! The one with the other baby is Andrew's friend Vaden. Melissa, his mother, and I were preganant together. Vaden is 3 1/2 weeks older than Andrew. It is so fun to see them right next to each other. The other two are just funny smiles. What a FATTY!! Check out that double chin. Just so you know, that's his daddy's fault. Rusty was, hands down, the fattest baby I've ever seen. His double chin had double chins. If you don't believe me, ask to see his picture next time you're at our house.

Sweet boys

These pictures make me smile. I have such sweet boys.

Andrew always sleeps with his hands up by his face. Except of course when he is swaddled into his baby straight-jacket for the long haul nightime sleep.

Rusty loves his boy. And I love to see him love his boy.

He's holding my hand. I want to remember this forever so that when he thinks he's too cool I can treasure these moments.

Aunt Sandy & Joyce

These are my aunts, Sandy and Joyce. They came the first weekend Angela and Jake were in town for a visit. We grilled burgers and dogs and hung out all day long. We couldn't figure out the proper titles for everybody though. If they're my aunts, then they are Andrew's great aunts... but what is Andrew's title to them? Great nephew? Grand nephew? Or just simply "my neice's son who's the cutest sweetest little boy on the planet"? Any ideas?

Sandy's a natural! She came right in, grabbed him out of the crib, and loved him right back to sleep!

This picture makes me laugh... but I promise Andrew wasn't scared of Joyce... he was just being a baby.

See? They got along famously.

This is the sweet little jumper they brought for him. How cute are those frogs?

Aunt Angela & Uncle Jake

My sister, Angela, and her husband, Jake, came to visit last week. We had a really great time showing off our boy. They spent most of their time spoiling him and unteaching him to fall asleep on his own. Whenever we left the house Angela put him in the sling and wore him all day long. We also played some serious wiffle ball, and Angela and Jake (mostely just Angela) killed me and Rusty even though we're the ones who play all the time. All in all the visit was really wonderful. The only bad thing was that Andrew's cousin wasn't here. We miss Gavin more than we know how to put in words. He would have been almost seven months... pushing around his little cousin. That's the way it was supposed to be. We love you Angela and Jake. Thanks for coming and loving on Andrew.

This is Angela and Gavin, we really wish he had been here.

Angela and Andrew could hang out forever just looking at each other

She would put the burp cloth over his eyes, pull it back, and squeal "SUPRISE"! Andrew without fail would smile and babble.

These pictures show Angela and Jake in the process of the unteaching I mentioned earlier!

Jake apparantly thought that Andrew's chubbed out arms looked like Popeye's, so he drew some tatoos on him... not my idea.

He's smiling at Rusty. This boy loves his daddy!

Andrew distracted Jake from his Sudoku pretty often, but I'm pretty sure Jake didn't mind.

My beautiful baby.

BIG boy

Here are some pictures that we took when Andrew was first born, and now! We are taking him to his two month appointment today and I can't wait to see how big my baby has gotten. Also, he has to get his shots and I am terrified. I can't see needles without getting literally weak in the knees. So, I'm really hoping I don't pass out in the pediatrician's office while my son gets his shots. I guess I have to get over this fear some time. It might as well happen in a few humiliating incidents in the doctor's office.

Andrew's Smile

All week Andrew has been smiling these HUGE adorable smiles. I keep trying to upload a video of him babbeling and smiling but I can't figure it out... so you'll have to just deal with still shots for now. My sister Angela and brother-in-law Jake are here right now. They seem to get along with Andrew pretty well. They are pros at getting him to smile. It sure has made that midnight feeding a lot more bearable when I'm greeted with a big fat smile.

Last Little League Game

Rusty's Little League team made it to the finals!! They lost their last game, but they did really really well. They were the Royals. Rusty looked so good out there with these boys... he's going to be a great coach for Andrew some day. It's nice that he's getting some practice with the McKenzie boys. I didn't get as many pictures as I should have, but here's what I've got. The last two are pictures of Andrew sleeping through the last baseball game. Maybe thet's why I didn't get as many pictures of the team, I got distracted by my cute little boy.

Another Grandma?!?

This last weekend we had ANOTHER Grandmother come and love all over Andrew. It was GREAT! I don't think he knew what to do with all the love and kisses. Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Chris met the boy for the first time. I only got pictures with Grandma though... they just didn't stay long enough. They were only here for one night. Here are Laura and the baby.

Cloth Diapers!!

So we've begun our journey with cloth diapers!! Andrew still looks pretty silly in some of them because they are so big, and he is so little. But, so far they don't leak (except for one kind) any more than the disposables, so I am happy. It really isn't as big a deal as I thought it was going to be. I am amazed at how much less TRASH is going out of our house now that we've switched. I do have to do a lot more laundry but I really think it's going to be worth the trouble.
