Yesterday and Today

Here are some pictures from Dad's visit. Both times!! I thought I'd throw in a few from his visit with Andrew too.

My big boy and all those teeth!

I could squish his face.

These are our friends, Jody and Julia. They were kind enough to bring us dinner, and snuggle a boy for a while.

Grandpa's here!!

BAA PAA!! That's what Andrew calls out every time he sees my dad. SO CUTE.

Here are a few pictures from the last week.

We had a really nice warm sunny day this week, I'm afraid it may have been our last for a while.

I could eat him.

Andrew was taking a bath while Rusty was shaving. I came in to find Andrew looking like this. Is it the cutest thing you've ever seen.

My boys!

Wide open. I am hoping that his eyes will turn green like mine, since Andrew's are exactly the color of Rusty's.

My little squish face.

GRANDPA!! Andrew's been really surprisingly gentle with Judah, he's very sweet.

Jeff and Joanne had us over for their family Christmas decoration night. We had a great time watching the chaos. Here's Joanne taking a break to hold Judah.

This is Jeff Taylor playing the baby hog. It was really sweet to see him snuggle with Judah.

We're Home!

Hey everyone! Judah made it home today. Andrew has done pretty well. We're having a little bit of fallout behaviorally with Andrew, but he's doing as well as could be expected considering he's been passed from house to house for the last two days.

So here's the story. We put Andrew to bed Saturday night at 8PM, and I start having what feel like decently intense braxton hicks contractions every 10-15 minutes. Rusty and I watch a movie and I have contractions through the whole thing. Rusty kept asking me if I thought it was labor, and I kept saying no. After the movie I went to try to get some sleep and Rusty stayed up to check on college football stuff. After an hour of not sleeping, and really regular contractions I got up to tell Rusty that I thought I was probably in labor and that we should try to get sleep while we can. So Rusty came to bed and crashed out. I fell asleep a couple hours later from sheer determination but kept waking up with contractions. At some point I decided to look at the clock, I was sure it had to be at least 6AM because I had had SO MANY contractions, but it was only 3AM. I hopped out of bed with the realization that I should probably be timing these suckers. I woke up Rusty, washed my face, brushed my teeth, and got ready to go to the hospital. In those 15 minutes I had at least 5 contractions so we called our wonderful friend Darcy who came over in a hurry to stay with Andrew. On the way to the hospital it seemed like my contractions were slowing down and I was afraid that maybe this was false labor. however, on our 45 minute drive to the hospital the back labor really kicked in and I was sure that we'd be staying the night. When I was admitted I was already at 7 centimeters, I was given the option of getting the epidural right that moment, or not at all. I chose not at all. We were there for two hours and I was 9 1/2 cm. dilated but my water hadn't broken yet. The nurse suggested that I have the doctor break it because she thought it would make me fully dilate and move things along a little faster. She was right, because about 10 minutes after he broke my water I was ready to push. I pushed for two contractions and Judah was born!! This was so very different from my labor with Andrew, thank the Lord, but I am just as blessed with another healthy little boy. Thank you friends for praying for us. God is good, all the time.
