Not Happy

My boy keeps spitting up all over himself, it was so bad yesterday that I took him straight to the bath tub... he didn't like it. Funny enough, he's even cute when he's mad.

By the way... the spitting seems to be because he's overeating. Why doesn't he let me know that he's full? Don't normal babies stop eating when they've had enough? What should I do? Any advice is welcome.

Hey i love reading your blog and seeing pictures of your little man. He's so cute. Just wish i could be there in person to give him kisses. Anyway, my advice with the spitting..is yes sometimes babies will eat a little more than they can handle but sometimes they eat enough and have a little reflux. After he eats be sure you don't immediately lay him down flat. Try holding him up for at least 20-30 mins after he eats. Also i don't know how long you are feeding him on both sides but maybe stop a few minutes early and see if he's satisfied. Also, maybe he's just getting milk a little too fast. Position him in a way he really has to suck and it not just pour into his mouth. Also i don't know how often he's eating so that might make a difference as well. We should talk sometime on the phone.Keep me updated. Allison

Jess - everything that Allison said. Sounds like great advice. Also, Andrew is a boy, they never tire of the breast . . . take it away! Mom

Jessica,
Hey, I've been reading your blog for awhile. Your son is adorable. I'm so glad God has blessed you. I want to let you know what I have found from Hannah splitting up. If I stop and burp her more often during feeding (once in the middle of one side, between switching breasts, once in the middle of the other breast and finally at the end). It seems that she just gulps it down and sometimes choke on it. I don't know if you nurse him to sleep but try not to. I seems to cause more gas too. Just be patient and remember to love even the spit up because it won't be long he won't be spiting up on you anymore.
